“One of the challenges of working to promote population health is that there are so many factors that shape the health of individuals, families and communities – public health can’t just charge ahead alone. The flip side of that challenge is one of the great rewards of our work – joining with partners who share our goals and who bring their own wisdom and creativity to collaborative endeavors. Working with LABBN to expand the scale and broaden the services offered by LA’s home visiting service network has been a case in point. LABBN staff bring in-depth knowledge of current home visiting programs and models to our collaborative work. They generously share that grounding in what exists, while helping us see how the current system can be a foundation for new approaches that will enhance the efficiency, quality, and cultural responsiveness to the system.
