Helen comes from a journalism background, with seven years of experience working in the television news industry, most recently in Sacramento. She has worked behind-the-scenes as a producer, covering crime, political, health, environmental, entertainment, and community-focused stories. She is excited to help further LABBN’s mission and use her storytelling skills to showcase the work LABBN is doing. Helen earned her BS in Telecommunication from the University of Florida.

Fun facts:

• Helen was born in Peru but has lived in the United States for over 20 years.
• She was part of the French Honor Society in high school, which came in handy on her honeymoon to Paris.
• She speaks Spanish fluently and is currently trying to learn Greek from her husband.
