She earned her Master of Public Health from the George Washington University. Before joining LABBN, she worked at the Peace Corps Headquarters Office of Health Services on electronic medical record implementation, training, evaluation, and reporting. In her graduate work she focused on improving health outcomes in underserved populations in the Washington, DC, metro area. Monica is passionate about utilizing IT innovations and data to find evidence-based solutions to public health issues.

Fun facts:

• When asked about three things still left on her bucket list, her response was, "Travel, travel, travel." She would like to visit more U.S. national parks, see more Natural Wonders of the World, visit every continent, and so much more.
• When she was a child, she wanted to be an artist when she grew up. Although her career path has been more technical, she likes to think she still uses that creative part of her brain when building data visualizations.
• If she could visit a fictional place, she would visit Rivendell from The Lord of the Rings. She would like to be able to experience the physical beauty and mystical sanctuary qualities of the place.
